Spring Trends – Eye Makeup

Hi everyone, so today I’m going to be doing a post on eye makeup which is currently hot for spring 2014. I was taking a look through the spring trends and felt quite sad as the orange lip is huge right now yet I have pale skin with yellow undertones so it looks horrible on me, I then decided that I wanted to do a post on spring trends but ones that were a little more wearable, and thus I present to you, the spring trends in eye makeup.

Blue Eyeshadow and Blue Eyeliner
At Marc Jacobs’ runway show models were seen rocking blue eyeshadow which looked absolutely stunning. This look is especially great for girls with green or brown eyes as it really makes the eye colour pop. I created my version of this trend here.

I used a primer on my eyelid to make the colour pop even more before sweeping a turquoise eyeliner over the top across my eyelid. I then lined my lower lash line with black eyeliner and used an eyeliner pen to create a slight catlike flick before adding my mascara.
Here are the products I used:

The products I have used are the Soap and Glory Thick and Fast Mascara, the Collection Extreme 24 Hour Felt Tip Liner (for the flick), the Barry M Kohl Pencil in Kingfisher, the Laval Black Eyeliner and the 2true pro prime perfect.)

Purple Eyeshadow
Holly Fulton, PPQ and Marchesa all showcased different looks featuring purple eyes, lips and nails for their shows. I have gone for a bolder look that looks like this.

To create this look I first added a primer to my eyelid to make the colour bolder, I then used a purple cream eyeshadow across the eyelid and dusted some dark purple glitter on the outer corner of my eye. I then lined my lower lash line with black eyeliner and added black mascara to complete the look, these are the products I used:

The products I have used are the Maybelline 24hr Colour Tattoo in Endless Purple (for the eyelid), the W7 Carnival Dust in Metallic Magenta (for the outer corners), the Soap and Glory Thick and Fast Mascara, the Laval Kohl Eyeliner and the 2true Pro Prime Perfect. You can buy the products below.

Graphic Eyeliner
This isn’t they easiest trend to emulate (and my attempt isn’t great), but when done properly it can really super cool. The idea is to use eyeliner to create fun shapes and unusual styles to create a bold and enticing look. Here’s my attempt.

I do have shaky hands so as you can see this look doesn’t look great on me, but hey I’ll tell you how I did it anyway and maybe you guys can do a better job. First I lined my upper lash line with felt tip liner, I continued the line to create a huge flick before curving upwards just above the crease of my eye. I then lined my lower lash line with eyeliner and created a second flick to curve around the first. Finally I added mascara to both my top and bottom lashes to create a bold look. These are the products I used.

Natural Eye Makeup
Of course not everyone likes bold looks on their eyes and some people prefer a more neutral look for daytime. Thankfully the natural eye makeup is also popular for spring, this is the look I created.

To create this look I simply swept some of my foundation across my eyelid and blended it in as it matches my skintone perfectly before using mascara to really volumise and lengthen my lashes. This look is great for accentuating lashes and eyes. These are the products I used.
