Introducing La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo Unifiant Light

After a week with very limited internet, I’m back and I thought I’d mark my return with an exciting new product launch. For a while now, La Roche Posay’s Effaclar Duo has been my favourite product for blemishes and marks so I was incredibly excited when I was contacted by La Roche Posay offering me the chance to try their new launch Unifiant and let me tell you now, this seriously is an absolute game changer…

Retailing for £16.50 (currently on offer online at Boots for £11.00), the La Roche Posay Unifiant is essentially their cult Effaclar Duo product but with a new tinted formula. Think of your favourite spot buster juiced up with a light coverage, pore unclogging properties and of course formulated for sensitive skin. This is available in two shades and you get 40ml of product.

The product description is as follows:
Moisturising coverage in two shades for instant transformative results with clinically proven efficacy on blemishes, marks and clogged pores. Visible results in 24hrs. Specifically formulated for sensitive skin. Immediately, imperfections and red and brown marks are visibly reduced. Complexion is visibly unified, without any mask effect. After 8 days: imperfections appear significantly reduced*. After 4 weeks: pores are unclogged, skin texture is refined and shine is controlled**. Hydrating and mattifying texture. Non comedogenic. Suitable for men and women.

Starting with the formula, this is of course an excellent product for dealing with pigmentation, blemishes and spots but what has always drawn me to the Effaclar Duo is the fact that it doesn’t dry out the skin, it doesn’t irritate my skin and even better not only does it deal with the spot itself but it also reduces the scarring. I’ve been trying this out for almost three weeks now and I have to admit my skin has never looked better. I have combination skin, I suffer with dry patches, redness, blemishes and sensitive skin to boot (aren’t I a lucky girl), I can either apply this directly to the spot and get some coverage or you can do what I do and use it as a BB Cream.

The tint is something that is quite intriguing to me, usually I find that tinted products can be somewhat iffy as the shade range can be off but although I am quite pale this shade (Light) is brilliant for my skin, I can apply this across the face and the translucent finish means that my spots are effectively concealed without me having to worry about it being obvious that I have coverage. This coverage is very light and it’s very perfecting, I especially love how this deals with my redness in a pinch.

You can wear this alone if you prefer a more natural look which I tend to do when I’m not going anywhere, if I am going out I like to use this as a base and then I can build coverage up on the areas where I need it such as my cheeks and chin. If you don’t tend to wear much makeup then this is of course a skincare item but I think this is revolutionising the spot busting game. For the longest time I have had cystic acne style lumps on my chin and no product has ever managed to touch them yet in the two weeks that I’ve been using this all those lumps are gone and I’m left with the smallest amount of tiny spots that this is continuing to treat.

Overall, would I repurchase this? Yes! I’d definitely recommend it, I really am singing the praises about this product but it’s the sort of thing that you may not think you need but once you do try it you won’t ever want to be without it again. A big thank you to La Roche Posay for letting me try this product, I’m so glad that I did!
