The Ride or Die Makeup Tag

I love makeup and beauty and now that I’ve been blogging for nearly three years I’ve found some seriously awesome products. I’ve seen this tag created by Jaclyn Hill floating around and it was definitely something that I wanted to give a go. Some of the makeup categories don’t apply to me (lashes mainly), some of them I haven’t found holy grail items (face powder, setting spray) and some categories that weren’t included I’ve found relevant to me, so this is my own twist on the tag, I hope that you enjoy this post!
ride-or-die
Primer: GOSH Velvet Touch Foundation Primer
The primer I love has since been housed in different packaging and renamed but this seriously is one of my all time favourites (previously known as the Velvet Touch Line Perfector), I always like a primer that can blur and even out my skin tone and this does just that, without being drying.

Foundation: Estee Lauder Doublewear Foundation in Bone
I tend to use high street foundations on a daily basis however I tried this foundation this year and was blown away by the coverage and the finish. This is full coverage which is more than I usually go for but it just makes me skin look amazing, I wore this on my graduation day and the difference in the appearance of my skin was just incredible.

Concealer: Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer
I’ve not tried masses of concealers and I’m yet to try a high end concealer but the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer is something that I always go back to. This works really well on blemishes for me and it doesn’t crease or cake under my eyes either, plus it covers my awful undereye shadows. This is so affordable and it does the trick for me every time.

Blusher: Benefit Hervana, ELF Cream Blusher in Heartbreaker.
I have two blusher favourites and this was so hard because there’s so many that I love! For powder, Benefit Hervana has to be the one of the prettiest powder blushers that I’ve seen, it’s a gorgeous orchid shade that is beautifully blendable. For cream blushers, I really like the ELF Cream Blusher in Heartbreaker which I can’t seem to find a link for! It’s a beautiful cotton candy pink, that blends easily into the skin and creates a really natural flush.

Bronzer: Astor Deluxe Bronzer in 002 Safari Fever
It’s very difficult to find a bronzer that works for me because I’m quite pale. Typically cool toned bronzers can make me look ashy, but most warm toned bronzers are way too ornage for me. This one by Astor, cost me only £4.00 from a local wholesale store and it’s worked a charm for me, I love it!

Highlighter: MUA Undress Your Skin Highlighting Powder in Pink Shimmer, Topshop Glow in Polish.
I’ve tried so many highlighters that I love so this was so hard but I’ve managed to narrow it down to one powder and one cream. For powder, I’m obsessed with this MUA one, it’s a beautiful pearlescent pink that just glows on the skin and it doesn’t contain any glitter! The Topshop offering again has a pearlescent finish but this time it’s a white gold. It’s very comfortable on the skin and is easy to use, plus it’s under £15.00.

Mascara: L’oreal Telescopic Mascara
I really adore this mascara, for me it lengthens, separates and volumises plus it’s got a very black formula rather than a pale grey black of most mascaras, I really do love this and it has been my favourite for years.

Lipstick: Essence Long Lasting Lipstick in Natural Beauty
I didn’t think I’d be able to pick just one lipstick but then I remember this, which I use all of the time! This is such a beautiful lipstick, the colour is a really lovely natural pink that’s not too bold or too nude and the formula is lovely and creamy. This is amazing quality and I’ll definitely be repurchasing.

Liquid Lipstick: 2true 8hr Power Lip Colour in Angelina
A while ago 2true sent me a box of products but this really stood out to me and it’s been my favourite liquid lipstick since. It’s very pigmented, and is a true red colour. In terms of formula, this doesn’t dry out my lips like a lot of liquid lipsticks do, but once this sets it stays in place all day. I love to pair this with a red lip liner for the perfect red lip.

Lip Gloss: Maybelline Colour Sensational Gloss in Stellar Berry
I don’t typically wear lipglosses, but as a teenager this was my go-to and I’ve repurchased it and still use it occasionally today! This is a really pretty lipgloss it smells beautiful (like those Strawberry quality street chocolates) and it isn’t overly thick or sticky. The shade is beautiful a plummy pink shade that’s lovely for autumn!

Lip Balm:  Body Shop Born Lippy, Maybelline Baby Lips in Cherry Me.
I have two lip balms that I like to use depending what mood I’m in, one is in a stick form and the the other is in a pot. On an evening I like to use a pot balm and I typically reach for the Body Shop Born Lippys. The Body Shop lip balms are very nourishing and of course they smell delicious, the offer a very slight tint too. The Baby Lips are lip balms that I’ve always liked, Cherry Me is this gorgeous pinky red that can be worn sheer or built up. Again, this smells lovely and the stick form is very convenient.

Eyeshadow Palette: Urban Decay Alice Through the Looking Glass Palette, MUA Heaven and Earth Palette.
My favourite palettes are all from Urban Decay, I do love the Naked rage but for colours I love my Alice Through The Looking Glass palette which is packed full of jewel tones, neutrals and pastel shades. It’s very versatile and the quality is amazing. I do love my Naked palettes however, my most used neutral palette is the MUA Heaven and Earth, I’ve actually hit pan on some shades. This are really lovely, with plenty of pigmentation and a soft, non chalky formula.

Eyebrows: Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz
I’ve tried various brow products but the Brow Wiz has to be my favourite. This was so easy to use, I could go for a softer or a bolder brow depending on how I wanted to use it and I found it easy to shape my brows too. This is expensive but the formula is neither too dry nor to waxy, it’s just perfect.

Perfume: Juicy Couture Viva La Juicy
There’s plenty of perfumes that I’ve tried and I do have a lot of favorites but one of my all-time favourites is Viva La Juicy by Juicy Couture, this is both sweet and fruity and it lasts for ages on me, it’s everything that I look for in a scent.
