Empties #29

Just a warning this post will probably be a long one, since I was moving I had all my empties in a huge box and it made no sense to bring them with me so I took the photos made a list and finally got rid of them. I hadn’t actually realised how many I’d gathered so here’s a very long list of the products I’ve used up.

Haircare
Garnier Ultimate Blends The Strength Restorer Shampoo
I’ve used this shampoo before and it’s just lovely, it stops my hair drying out, keeps it soft and silky plus I love the smell of this it’s a lovely sweet smell that I find relaxing.
Repurchase? Not yet but I will do in the future.

Garnier Ultimate Blends The Strength Restorer Conditioner
Another loved hair product, again this has the same benefits of the first but the conditioner just makes my hair feel so soft, silky and glossy. I love it.
Repurchase?
Not yet but I will in the future.

Johnson’s Baby Shampoo
My go-to for cleaning makeup brushes, this does a fab job of cleaning out even the trickiest of makeup, I am tempted in the future to try a liquid soap.
Repurchase? Yes already have.

Colab Original Dry Shampoo
Move over Batiste there’s a new favourite in town! In all honesty I love this, the smell is lovely, I love how this absorbs oil and grease but doesn’t leave a horrible white cast. I’ve already repurchased this.
Repurchase? Already have.

Bodycare
Carex Aloe Vera Antibacterial Hand Gel
I actually prefer the bubblegum scent of this but the Aloe Vera is easier to find. I really like the fresh, cooling scent of this and I like being able to freshen up my hands on the go. The price is affordable as well.
Repurchase? Already have.

Nivea Cashmere Moments Shower Cream
One of my favourite shower products of all time, this leaves the skin incredibly soft and nourished, it lathers up well, has a lovely pearly colour and smells amazing. If this was unbranded I’d think that this is a much higher end brand.
Repurchase? Yes.

Dove Invisible Dry Roll On Deodorant
My beloved Soft and Gentle was out of stock but this is one of the few deodorants that doesn’t make my Eczema flare up, it also smells lovely (and nostalgic) and doesn’t leave white marks.
Repurchase? Already have.

Dove Invisible Dry Spray Deodorant
My Nan got me this, I don’t typically use sprays as I find that they crumble onto my clothing, they’re not as effective and they irritate my skin, this held up pretty well though.
Repurchase? Probably not.

Soft and Gentle Vanilla and White Rose Petals Roll On Deodorant
My usual go-to deodorant, this smells lovely, keeps the stink away and doesn’t irritate my skin.
Repurchase? Yes.

Impulse Truelove Mini Bodyspray
I love using bodysprays and was excited to use this mini. It smells lovely (very sweet and powdery) but the small size doesn’t last too long. This wasn’t a bad product at all but there are other scents I prefer.
Repurchase? Probably not.

Soap & Glory Hand Dream Super Cream
I’m not a fan of Hand Food and think it smells awful bgut I really loved this hand cream by Soap and Glory. This did a great job and keeping my hands hydrating, plus it smells lovely like vanilla and cake and the large tube lasted ages. Annoyingly Soap and Glory have discontinued this!
Repurchase? Discontinued 😦

Juicy Couture Viva La juicy Gold Couture 30ml
I got this as a Christmas gift but used it daily so it’s no surprise it’s gone now! My all time favourite is Viva La Juicy the original but this smells lovely, it has notes of caramel and praline so it’s a very warm and sweet scent but without being sickly.
Repurchase? Probably in the future.

Iwhite Instant Teeth Whitening Dark Stains Teeth Whitening Kit
Another Christmas gift, I’ll be doing a full review on this soon but it was okay. It did whiten my teeth a few shades and I could tell the difference though it couldn’t fully remove a nicotine stain. I did find that the application was easy but a but uncomfortable and it expensive.
Repurchase? Possibly, I’m going to try some different whitening products.

Nails
Superdrug Acetone Nail Polish Remover
My usual nail polish remover, this is cheap and does the job though it can’t do much for staining. I did once try the Acetone free formula but found it didn’t do a thing to remove my polish.
Repurchase? Already have.

Models Own Iced Neon Nail Paint in Pukka Purple
I liked the shade of this and when I first got this I liked the formula, it dries with a high shine gel effect that doesn’t chip easily. The drawback is that I felt that the formula turned gloopy quicker than expected and that I’d like.
Repurchase? Probably not.

Nails Inc Gel Effect Nail Polish in Regents Place
I loved the shade of this, the polish is a beautiful colour and again it has a phenomenal gel-like glossy finish that lasts for days without chipping. My one qualm is that you do need at least two coats to get this opaque as the formula is on the thin side.
Repurchase? Probably not.

Skincare
Vichy Aqualia Thermal Serum
I bought this serum to try and absolutely loved it. It’s super lightweight, wonderfully hydrating on the skin and feels lovely. I really loved using this and I would definitely repurchase in the future?
Repurchase? Yes but not yet as I’ve got a different serum to try.

Superdrug Vitamin E Eye Cream
This is budget friendly, gentle and lovely and radiant. This is a light cream so it isn’t cooling like some of the gel ones and it doesn’t do anything for fine lines. This does help to reduce my dark circles though by adding radiance to my under-eyes plus it’s under five pounds.
Repurchase? Already have.

Garnier Skinactive Aloe Extract Cleansing Milk
I did like the smell of this but in honesty there’s not much to differentiate this from other budget friendly cleansing lotions, it removes makeup but doesn’t really offer much else. I do think this is a step up from wipes and would repurchase if there was nothing else but there are other cleansers I prefer.
Repurchase? Not in the near future.

Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Body Sponge
I’m officially an idiot, the normal sponges looked smaller than I remembered so I accidentally picked up the body sponge for my face…Having said that, this did work really well (just not as much as the face sponge) and if you do the whole body contouring thing you’d probably like this.
Repurchase? No haha.

Makeup
Astor Deluxe Bronzer in 002 Safari Fever
This was my favourite bronzer for ages, it’s no as pigmented as the likes of Benefit but I found it easy to work with considering how pale my skin is. This was easy to build and blend and the colour was neither too orange nor too ashy or muddy. In honesty I really like this and it’s a nice affordable option.
Repurchase? Yes.

No7 Vital Brights Cream Blush in Blossoming Pink
This was a lovely cream blush I had hit pan and nearly used it up but the texture seemed to have changed so I binned this. The colour wasn’t my usual shade as a rosy coral pink but actually it worked with my skintone. The formula blended easily into the skin and didn’t emphasise texture and the texture was very creamy.
Repurchase? Discontinued.

Loreal Lumi Magique Primer
I’ve heard so many good things about this I really can see why. This has a pleasant scent and a lightweight texture, it blends easily into the skin and imparts a beautiful non-glittery glow that’s perfect for underneath the foundation. This injects life into my face and as a high street product performs impressively.
Repurchase? Yes.

MUA Pro Base Eye Primer
Another cheap and cheerful product this eye primer comes with a doe foot applicator making application easy and precise. This doesn’t really do anything in terms of smoothing the lid but it does provide something for eyeshadow to stick to and it increases the longevity and pigmentation of my eyeshadow without breaking the bank.
Repurchase? Already have.

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer
This was my go-to concealer for a very long time. I do find that the fairest shade is a good match for me, I like the affordable price and the formula does banish dark circles. The drawback is that this can look a bit cakey and I know that people have found that as they age this creases, I’m currently using one by Bourjois.
Repurchase? In the future but not yet.

Pantina Cosmetics Moonlove Lip Pencil in Scarlet x2
I’d had these for ages from an old job lot and to be honest I just wasn’t really using them. I can’t find these online so I think they’re a cheap or phantom brand, after having these and not using up I decided to bin them.
Repurchase? No.

  1. How long did it take you to finish all of these products? I love seeing what people use up and whether or not they’ll re-buy 🙂

  2. stashy says:

Yay for being a Colab dry shampoo convert! I tried Batiste before but I found it left a white cast on my hair.
I use Johnson’s baby shampoo to wash my brushes too – effective but not stripping of my natural bristle brushes.
That’s funny you accidentally picked up the RT body sponge for your face. 😳 They should have made the body version a different colour or something.
Wow I can’t believe you finished the Juicy Couture perfume already! 😮
Well done on all your empties!

    • Yes I do love Batiste as it’s heavy duty and I know it will absorb all of the oil but having said that the white cast is horrendous. Still love Johnson’s but I’ve been tempted by a Dr Bronner Liquid Soap. The body sponge! My BF laughed at me so much and I was so embarrassed haha, it did work well though just not for smaller areas! Also I think I was quite liberal with the perfume haha the entire office could smell it!
