Vichy Mineral 89 Serum Review

I love Vichy, in fact Vichy is one of my favourite skincare brands and their serums in particular are simply wonderful. I’ve gone through an entire bottle of the Aqualia Thermal serum and I’ve tried their Idealia range as well so when a sample of the Vichy Mineral 89 Serum was included in a magazine I’d read a few months ago I was extremely excited to try it. I gave this a go last weekend and I was really impressed with the initial results, here’s my thoughts!

This is a sample sachet and it’s pretty cute actually! I like how it has been cut into the shape of the full size bottle, it’s a nice level of detail. Other than that I won’t go into the packaging too much simply because this is a sample, the full size of this product retails for £22.00 for 50ml – that’s one of the things I like about Vichy, I find serums are usually very expensive and Vichy’s are always reasonably priced and high quality.

Straight into the description, here’s how the Vichy Mineral 89 Serum is described on Feel Unique:

Discover a new generation of face moisturizer, combining 15 Mineral Rich Water with Hyaluronic Acid to fortify skin and make it more resistant to visible aging caused by pollution, stress to skin, and fatigue.

Vichy Mineral 89 Fortifying And Plumping Daily Booster, with 89% Mineralizing Thermal Water, delivers a boost of hydration for a vibrant, healthy glow. For the 1st time, a breakthrough moisturizing formula, with 89% Mineralizing Thermal Water to help strengthen the skin’s moisture barrier and make skin more resistant to visible aging caused by environmental factors combined with hyaluronic acid to hydrate and plump skin.

Minéral 89 face moisturizer fortifies and makes skin more resistant to visible aging caused by pollution, stress to skin, and fatigue. Its moisturizing formula boosts hydration to replenish the skin’s moisture barrier. As a result, skin feels more hydrated, plumped, and toned. Day after day, skin radiates with a healthy glow. A lightweight, fast-absorbing 100% transparent face moisturizer. Absorbs quickly into skin leaving it feeling comfortable, softer and hydrated. Non-greasy. Non-sticky. Non-shiny. Fragrance free. Oil-free.

Looking at the ingredients list one of the first ingredients listed is water proving that this is bang on trend with the whole water based skincare that’s going on right now, this also backs up the claims about the thermal water. Unfortunately this does also contain Phenoxyethanol so we do have the presence of alcohol onto this product.

Despite that, this product feels amazing on the skin, it was a light, non greasy serum which Vichy definitely specialises in, the texture felt very similar to the Aqualia Thermale serum. It sunk into the skin quickly and felt incredibly nourishing and hydrating as I was massaging it into the skin.

And the results! Instantly my face looked so much brighter and healthier but the thing I noticed was that my skin definitely looked plumper which is something I’ve never actually seen to this effect from a skincare product that I’ve tried. I actually called my boyfriend into the room to show him because I was that impressed which says a lot!

I feel like this definitely hydrated my skin and my skin didn’t look dull or textured at all so I was very impressed. This didn’t irritate my sensitive skin either, nor did it leave behind a greasy film.

All in all I’m impressed, it’s difficult to say whether the effect would be long term since this is only as sample, I usually find the effects never last for very long however, I did notice a difference with this and it was very pleasant to use, consider me a fan! I would recommend and repurchase this, I’d particularly recommend it to those on the hunt for a plumping skincare product that won’t break the bank.

The Vichy Mineral 89 Serum is available from Feel Unique for £22.00.

I hope that you enjoyed this post and if you did please hit the like button, let me know in the comments if you have tried anything from Vichy. I wasn’t a fan of their Normaderm concealer but everything else I’ve loved!

Thanks for reading.

Vichy is a good brand although I started not loving their products since they’re so scented, and now there are so many unscented skincare options out there.

    • Yeah I can understand it, the fragrance is a bit of a turn off but since it doesn’t irritate my skin I’m not too fussed, I always hate products that smell really strongly of essential oils!
