Halloween tomorrow means that it’s definitely the end of October! I hope you all had a fantastic month, mine has been up and down but on the whole it’s not been too bad at all. I have to admit, I don’t want to drop the C bomb just yet but I’m very excited for Christmas (oops). Since it’s still autumn though here’s a roundup of my favourite things this month.
Starting with beauty and I have five favourites. Starting with eyes I really enjoyed using the Makeup Revolution Out of This World Eyeshadow in Limitless. It’s a gorgeous metallic brown baked eyeshadow that’s just perfect for this time of year. It’s not too warm or cool toned but it brightens the eyes and keeps my makeup on trend. The second eye favourite is the Seventeen High Drama Liquid Eyeliner. I’ll admit I’m not a huge fan of liquid eyeliners mainly because I struggle with the wing but I like how the nib isn’t too rigid or flexible making it much easier for me so long as I take my time and don’t get too ambitious!
A couple of face favourites now, the first is a product I was given by a friend as she no longer wanted it. I never reviewed it and didn’t think I’d get much use out of the No7 Creme Touch Powder in Fair Bloom. Powders are hit and miss with me as they can instantly make my makeup look cakey but this one feels really silky on the skin and it helps to set everything and mattify slightly whilst retaining some luminosity to the skin. I like it a lot. I’ve also tried out the Seventeen Skin Wow 3 Way Primer and Highlighter this probably is too intense as a primer but as a liquid highlighter it works so well, I love the silvery white tone of it and it doesn’t have lots of drag so won’t move your makeup either.
My final beauty favorite this month is an old-but-gold product and that’s the Maybelline Coloursensational Shine Lip Gloss in Stellar Berry. Now I’m not usually a fan of lip glosses however, this one doesn’t feel overly sticky and I like how it leaves a stain on my lips. Better yet because it’s a gloss over a lipstick it doesn’t try out my lips, plus the berry tone is perfect for October.
I have a good few lifestyle favourites so I’m going to start with the things you can watch. At the beginning of the month I was on an anime kick and I powered through quite a lot of Assassination Classroom. This is definitely an adult anime but it’s really funny and the story line has a lot of twists and turns, thing the happy feeling you get from a Studio Ghibli film then add some adult humour and this is it. Sticking with adult watching, I went to see the film Jigsaw this month. I’m a huge fan of the Saw films so I was hoping that this would deliver and it definitely did, I loved the storyline of this one and it didn’t feel out of place from the rest of the series. Finally, I joined the bandwagon and subscribed to Netflix and already I’ve got a lot of use out of it! I’m currently watching Skins since I’d somehow never managed to watch it, I’ve also watched some Tornado Hunters and World’s Deadliest Tornados too. I have plenty on my list of things to watch but by all means leave your recommendations in the comments!
My final two favourites this month are more health related. The first is more general and that’s going to the gym. I’ve been unhappy with my weight for a while now but rather than complaining I’ve tried to eat less unhealthy food and to exercise more. I haven’t got a subcription since I’m planning on moving after Christmas but for now I’ve been going when I can and I’m feeling better for it. The final favourite is a food favourite and that’s Kabuto Chicken Ramen Noodles. You can buy these from supermarkets like Sainsbury’s (they’re with the Pot Noodles) but unlike Pot Noodles these are better for you (under 100 calories), more tasty and they’re very hearty and warming as they’re noodles in a chicken soup. Really nice for when the weather is freezing.
So there we have it, I hope you all had a wonderful month and have a fantastic November! Let me know in the comments what your favourites are this month and if you have tried any of these things or have any Netflix recommendations.
