Ciate Paint Pot in Fly With Me Review

Although I’m a huge fan of nail polish (I wear it daily and I’ve done so many nail polish reviews) I’d never actually got around to trying Ciate which is surprising since they’re one of the most popular nail polish brands. I received the shade Fly With Me as a gift a while ago and whilst it may not be a shade that I would instantly gravitate towards it is quite pretty, here’s my thoughts.

Starting with the packaging which I love, Ciate’s nail polishes come in an iconic wide glass bottle with a long handle and the bow decoration that I now always associate with the brand. The long handle may seem like a gimmick but it actually helps you to avoid streaking (and it does seem to work). I would describe these products as mid-range at £9.00 a polish.

The shade Fly With Me is actually quite an unusual shade, I would describe it as a deep teal with a pink duochrome finish. It sounds like the colours of teal and pinky/purple wouldn’t go together but they work surprisingly well with each other. The finish I particularly like as I feel that the duochrome and the minuscule amount of shimmer prevents this polish from looking flat on the nails.

In terms the formula I have mixed thoughts, application was smooth and easy and the polish is neither too thick or too runny. This particular shade required two coats for maximum opacity. My only bug bear is that I wish it lasted a little longer this lasted a good three days on me before it chipped to the point where I needed to remove it but I always like my polishes to last as long as possible – this is something that a good top coat will solve though so I am nitpicking.

Overall, this isn’t a shade that I would have instantly grabbed but I’m glad I have it, I don’t actually own any similar polishes so this is something that I can see myself using quite a lot and unlike China Glaze, Ciate impressed me with their first brushstroke. Whilst I wouldn’t rush to repurchase this shade I would try other Ciate polishes and I definitely do recommend the Ciate Paint Pots.

The Ciate Paint Pot in Fly With Me is available here for £9.00.

It’s a shame that it chipped so quickly! On the bright side it sounds like it’s very easy to reapply. The shade is so gorgeous ❤
