I’ve always loved fruity scents, and exotic scents such as mango and passionfruit always make me feel uplifted and happy so it only made sense that I give the Mango Peach Salsa votive a try. I have to say, this is one that I don’t think I’ll be repurchasing and I would even say that this was a disappointment, here’s why.

The Yankee Votives in my opinion, are an excellent idea. Priced at only £1.80 these are a great way to try new scents before investing in one of the pricier jar candles. According to Yankee Candle these offer 15 hours of burn time although I have to admit this one didn’t last nearly as long I think I got around 8 hours out of this as the wick wouldn’t light and the wax didn’t melt evenly.
The scent is described as the following:
“Sweet and zesty juicy mangoes and peaches livened with citrus, ginger flowers and pink pepper.”
Top: Ripened Mango, Lime, Nectarine, Orange, Grapefruit
Mid: Peach, Ginger Flowers, Pinkpepper
Base: Clean Musk
Starting wit the fragrance notes, when I smell this I can smell the mango, orange and peach but I was unable to detect the other scents particularly lime, grapefruit and clean musk. I was hoping that this would be a juicy and mouthwatering scent with plenty of zest but rather than the tart scent I was hoping for this was very sweet.
To me, this smelled very synthetic, it had a weak throw and when I did get a whiff it smelled very artificial like those fruit salad sweets that you can get. Usually the fruity scents by Yankee Candle are very true to the scent but this one in my opinion was a let down.
Overall, I was disappointed, this didn’t burn well, it had a weak throw an the scent was very synthetic, it’s a shame because Mango scents when done right are lovely but I’ve never enjoyed the artificial mango scents which to me smell cheap and too sweet. Personally I wouldn’t recommend or repurchase this.
