I love cream eyeshadows, in fact I would choose a beautiful cream eyeshadow over a powder eyeshadow anyday so when I came across the Mememe Dew Pots I was super excited to see a range of stunning shades in cream formula, I picked up the shade Moonlight Mist and I finally gave it a good go. Here’s my thoughts.
So this is the Dew Pot in Moonlight Mist, I do adore the design of these with the glass pots and beautiful almost gothic design on the top however the pots are very small so for £8.00 you don’t get a lot of product, think about half the size of a Maybelline Colour Tattoo. These did retail for £8.00 but a quick look on the Mememe website has revealed that these appear to be discontinued but you can still get these on other sites such as Ebay.
As mentioned these are cream eyeshadows, I did find the Maybelline Colour Tattoos to be too drying and found that they dried out very quickly however this hasn’t dried out quickly which I’m pleased with.
The shade Moonlight Mist is a stunning metallic navy shade and I’ve not seen another cream eyeshadow like this, you can wear this across the entire lid for a dramatic look of you can use this as a base, or even as an eyeliner. I like bold looks so I wore this on my entire lid for a metallic smokey eye which I really like.
Unfortunately this product has been disappointing because it’s way too creamy and it slips and slides around. I’ve tried wearing this alone and with an eye primer but literally seconds after I’ve applied this it has creased, smudged everywhere and transferred to the rest of my eye. I’m really disappointed because I absolutely adore the colour but the formula is absolutely terrible.
Overall I’m gutted this is such a beautiful shade and not being able to use it absolutely sucks, all I need is a company to make this shade with a formula that’s in between the Colour Tattoos and the Dew Pots and I’m set, unfortunately I don’t think that will happen soon and I remain disappointed. I wouldn’t recommend or repurchase these.
I hope that you enjoyed this post and if you did please hit the like button, let me know in the comments if you have ever loved the colour of a product only to find that the formula is awful, it’s definitely happened to me a few times.
