So we’re almost at the end of July and I can’t decide if that’s a good thing or not, payday is on it’s way but my boyfriend will start work in August working long hours so that’s definitely going to be tough. On the brighter note, July has been very stressful so in a way I’m glad it’s over. Whilst I decide how I feel about the end of July I thought I’d share with you my favourites.
Starting with makeup I’ve been a little indecisive this month so I don’t have an abundance of favourites but what I do have I have enjoyed. I’ve been loyal to one eyeliner this month which has been the 2true Pro Tech Extreme Felt Tip Liner. I had literally given up hope on felt tip liners but this one has restored my faith, it doesn’t last all day long and definitely needs topping up however it lasts longer than other felt liners I’ve tried, it’s easy to use and very black, so that’s a thumbs up from me. I’ve also only used one lip balm this month and that has been the Maybelline Baby Lips Electro in Pink Shock this smells absolutely gorgeously fruity and it leaves a fuchsia tint to the lips which is low maintenance yet pretty, it’s also hydrating making it a great summer lip product. A foundation with a story has to be the Max Factor Lasting Performance Foundation, my friend Rachel gifted me the rest of this and it’s one that my nan has used for over ten years – frankly it’s wondeful and my nan has good taste. Highlighter has been a bit of an issue this month with some of my cream highlighters such as my Avon Duo moving my makeup or wearing away and with the heat this summer the MUA Undress Your Skin Highlighter in Pink Shimmer has managed to work it’s way back into my makeup bag, this has stayed put and offers a lovely sheen to the cheekbones that’s subtle yet effective, well done MUA.
One haircare favourite this month has been three products all from the same range and they are the Garnier Ultimate Blends Strength Restorer Shampoo, Conditioner and Hair Serum. It’s not often I fall in love with shampoo and conditioner but these were bloody good! These smelled amazing, left my hair super soft and shiny and generally were great, I went off Garnier after the Sleek and Shine shampoo left my scalp drier than the Sahara Desert but this new range is seriously the bomb. Game changers my friends!
I have three skincare favourites the first being the Origins GinZing Eye Cream I feel a bit naughty mentioning this because it’s a cult product, pricey and it contains alcohol which I know is a nono for some people but for me this works and my under eye circles are no more – cheers Origins. The Derma V10 Tech Solutions Deep Cleansing Nose Strips were a pleasant surprise as they are the first pore strips to make a difference. I’m not usually oily on my nose but this summer I ended up with a lot of blackheads on my nose and one pore strip pulled out a ton of the little gits. I’m very impressed with these and would definitely repurchase. As mentioned above my skin has been oily this summer which has been an. absolute. nightmare. Thankfully La Roche Posay had my back and their Effaclar Duo Plus is the first product to get rid of the cystic spots that had buried deep in my skin. I never thought those would go and Effaclar Duo changed that for me. This definitely works for me but results are not instant so you will need to use this continually and have patience to make this work.
Pretty Little Liars has me hooked both the books and the tv series and I’ve been watching the series with my boyfriend. Simon and I have managed to get near the end of Season 2 and we’re really enjoying it so far. Instagram. Wow despiteall my protests that I would never use this app, I finally caved and I really am enjoying it, I’ve had a lot of fun playing with filters and taking some snaps and I’m pretty proud of my feed. Find me on there @ninarossbeauty. My sister also brought me back the loveliest silver bracelet from Italy, it’s a stunner but me being an idiot forgot to take a photo so if you keep an eye on my Instagram feed I’ll get a snap on there soon (I may have even done it by the time this photo goes up) hint hint.
That concludes my monthly favourites, if you enjoyed this post please hit the like button and let me know in the comments if you like any of these favourites and share some of your own!
