I go through phases of using eye cream, I particularly like eye creams that either hydrate my eye area or that help to add radiance and to prevent and aid with my dark circles. I did end up using the Superdrug Eye Cream for a while which I enjoyed (until I let my mum have it) and then I was given the No7 Protect and Perfect Intense Eye Cream from Rachel, shortly after I purchased the Origins Ginzing Eye Cream which I haven’t tried yet. I decided to give the No7 a shot first and I’ve almost finished it which is a small wonder in itself, so here’s my thoughts.
The product comes in a white tube with black writing and a blue lid, for me this comes across as quite clinical but I think that it fits with the theme. The Protect and Perfect range by No7 is aimed at the age range 30-45 who are hoping for anti ageing benefits and I think these colours look sophisticated and fit with the scientific theme. This particular eye cream has been discontinued after it replaced the No7 Protect and Perfect Eye Cream however they have replaced it with a new formula (No7 Protect and Perfect Intense Advanced Eye Cream) so I’m assuming that if you can get along with this then you will most likely find that suitable too. I’m not sure how much this particular eye cream cost (although it’s on ebay for various prices) but the new one retails for £17.00.
I’m often a little nervous trying certain brands of skincare, particularly when they get pricey as a lot of them tend to add fragrances and have formulas that irritate my skin. I tried a Lancome Cleansing Gel that many people love last year but for me the fragrance was too heavy and my skin was irritated so Iwas hoping that this wouldn’t be the case with this.
Thankfully and much appreciated by the delicate eye area, this eye cream is unfragranced and is rather cooling on the eyes. It has a pointed tip and you can squeeze the product directly from the tube to the skin which I much prefer over a tub of eye cream (fingers +tub of product+eyes=nervous).
The product comes out tinted but blends into any skintone which I love. I don’t find that this cream conceals my under eye circles however it does hydrate the eyes which can make the circles less prominent. What I love about this is that if I have tired eyes from staring at a screen this cools them down and adds hydration leaving them feeling refreshed.
Overall I do like this eye cream, however, I’m not sure if I’d go out and buy the newer formulation, I think I will be trying a few more first as I have a couple of other eye creams in my stash waiting to be used.
The new and improved formula – The No7 Protect and Perfect Intense Advanced Eye Cream is available here for £17.00 or you can find this formula available on websites such as Ebay.
