I picked up two of the Revlon Top Speed Fast Dry Nail Enamels a long time and I reviewed the shade Decadent pretty quickly but never actually reviewed Black Star. This review has been a long time coming and is very overdue but nevertheless I hope that you enjoy this post.
In terms of packaging I do like the large bottle of the products you get plenty of product for your money although I’m not sure if £7.99 is a little overpriced for this nail polish, but having said that I did purchase it for around three pounds wholesale which is well worth it.
In terms of the colour this is really unusual with the name you would have thought that it would be a simple black glitter but it is much more than that. This is actually a really deep gunmetal grey with really subtle and minute silver shimmer particles which is simply stunning, this is absolutely lovely for adding a unique twist to black nail polish.
In terms of the formula, this does dry relatively quickly living up to it’s name, one coat is enough to get the polish opaque although I usually use two just to be sure and it has a really nice glossy finish. What is the major selling point for me though is the longevity, these nail polishes really stick to the nails meaning that you don’t have to use a topcoat although I always use my trusty Seche Vite anyway.
I’m a huge fan of dark nails colours and I’ve been wearing this repeatedly throughout Autumn and Winter just because it really is unique. I’m a fan of this and I think I actually would repurchase even at full price simply because I don’t have another nail polish like it.
Overall I really do like it and I would highly recommend it, it isn’t a grey and it isn’t a black, it’s somewhere in between and I just love it.
