Hey guys, so I’ve been trying (and failing miserably) to grow my nails and it got me thinking about nail shapes. We are lucky in the fact that we can file and shape out nails to how we want so I thought I’d create a guide to choosing your nail shape, I hope that you enjoy this post.
Pointy nails are great for people with short fingers as they elongate the fingers making them look more slender. The downside to this shape is that if you are a practical person who uses your hands a lot, these nails probably won’t last long, then there’s the chance that you might claw someone’s eyes out.
Square nails are quite popular in the fact that they look very modern and have a wide surface area however because the nail bed is round then these definitely take some maintenance so if you’re not one to be constantly filing, buffing and shaping your nails then this may not be the shape for you.
Oval nails are one of the most natural looking nails, if you have long fingers these are quite nice to add some femininity and girliness to your nails as they make the nails look longer. They do require some buffing but look very natural and pretty.
Round nails are seen by some as very pretty and girly however, they do make the fingers look shorter and the nails look longer, so if you have small hands and shorter, stubbier fingers then these may not be the design for you.
These nails are similar to square nails however they are slightly softer in the fact that the edges are filed to be slightly rounder, these are great for a good mix between, classy and practical and these are often recommended for people who want glamorous nails but don’t want to get in trouble at work.
Possibly one of the longest nails shapes. They are similar to pointy nails but a little more rounded and softer in appearance. These are great if you like to experiment with nail art as you have a wide surface area.
I hope that you enjoyed this post and if you did please hit the like button, I think my favourite shape is Oval nails but I’d love you guys to comment your favourite nail shape down below.
