Collective Haul and Samples (And a few mini reviews)

Hi everyone, so lately I’ve been picking up a few bits here and there, my mum has kindly given me some products that didn’t work for her and I’ve been sent some samples recently so I decided to put them all together as one big haul of everything I have, I’m not been paid to review any of these samples so they are all my own opinions, some of these products I’ve already tried so I can give you an opinion on them, others I haven’t yet tried but am planning on trying as soon as possible, so without further ado, let’s see what I’ve got.

So as you can see I’ve got a fair few bits and pieces, I’m not going to list them all here because it will take forever, instead I’m going to break it up into, which pieces are samples, which pieces I’ve been given from my mother and which pieces I have bought, that way I’m not overloading you all with a huge (and irrelevant) list.

Samples that were sent to me:

The two products on the left are from Living Proof, I got sent seven samples which are the Anti Frizz Shampoo, the Anti Frizz Conditioner, the Nourishing Styling Cream, the Restore Shampoo, the Restore Conditioner, the Restore Targeted Repair Cream and the Restore Mask Treatment. I haven’t included all of the samples in the image above because it would have taken up too much room and I haven’t yet had a chance to try these samples, but as my hair is prone to dryness and frizziness I’m looking forward to seeing if they are worth purchasing. You can view the Living Proof products here.

To the right of the Living Proof Samples is the Manuka Doctor Apinourish Rejuvenating Face Mask, and in the top right corner the Manuka Doctor Apiclear Skin Treatment Serum. I also received a Targeted Wrinkle Filler, but seeing as I’m only nineteen I didn’t bother with it and let my nan try it. The products contain purified Bee Venom and Manuka Honey, again I haven’t yet had the chance to try these but I’m looking forward to trying them, I have to say I’m slightly apprehensive about the purified Bee Venom but we’ll see if it works or not. You can view the products here or on the Superdrug website.

I also received a free samples of the Rimmel London BB Cream in Light and some free Mascara when I purchased Company magazine. I’m looking forward to trying the BB Cream as I’m a huge fan of Rimmel London, but haven’t yet got round to it as I’m unsure of how much coverage it will give so don’t want to wear it when I’m going out. If I’m honest I don’t have high expectations of the Company Mascara simply because Magazine freebies are never usually great, but I’ll give it a try and let you know if it’s any good. The Rimmel London BB Cream is available here.

I also got sent some perfume samples, in the photo you can see that I received some samples of the new Burberry Brit Rhythm Perfume which smells really nice, it kind of reminds me of Chanel No5 and has that kind of mature scent to it but it’s very nice. I also received a sample of the new Dolce perfume by Dolce and Gabanna but I’ve given that to my nan as it’s a little mature for me, for those interested though it has a similar smell to Dolce and Gabanna Light Blue and is very floral/fresh so if those sort of perfumes are your thing you may want to take a look into it. You can view and purchase both perfumes here.

From my Mum:
from mum
These are all products that my mum has tried and wasn’t really a fan of so she has passed them onto me to see if I can get some use out of them.

To the left is the St Tropez Ultimate Rapid Face Tan in Medium, I’m actually quite nervous about this product because when I was fourteen I had a horrible incident with self tanning wipes where after one nothing happened so I used all twenty five and ended up day-glow orange (massive fail) and ever since I’ve been apprehensive towards fake tan. The other thing that worries me is the fact that the shade is medium, I have very pale skin with yellow undertones and I don’t really tan so I’m a little worried that this may be too orange for me, but eventually I may get the courage to give it a try. You can view and buy the St arTropez products here.

The next product is the MAC Studio Fix Powder and it’s in shade NW20 which is apparently the lightest. My mum has very white skin with pink undertones and said that this was orange on her but I think I might be able to get some use out of it as I’m a little darker than her and have yellow undertones, either way I love MAC so I’m definitely excited to give this a whirl. It’s apparently a foundation and a powder and you can view and buy it here.

The final product from my lovely mum is the Lancome Gel Eclat Clarifying Cleanser Pearly Foam, I’m a little worried about this because it says it can work on sensitive skin but it smells very perfumed so I wouldn’t be surprised if I had an allergic reaction to it, I may give it a try on a weekend but I’m still a little apprehensive. You can view and buy it here.

Products I bought last week:
last week purchase
These are all the products I bought when shopping with my sister last weekend, I didn’t buy much because I ended up spoiling her rotten but what I did get were these four products.

To the left is the Argan Oil Hydrating Hair Mask, this was being sold in Poundland (for a pound in case you didn’t guess) so I picked it up, I haven’t yet tried it because I’ve been using my Macadamia Oil Extract Conditioner which has been doing an amazing job, but I am looking forward to using this as it smells lovely and Argan Oil is great for the hair. You can view and locate it here.

I also picked up the Rimmel London Stay Matte Pressed Powder in 003 Peach Glow, I actually bought this weeks ago but couldn’t remember if I’d mentioned in in my previous haul posts so decided to mention it in here. It’s a great product, despite being two shades darker than my usual shade for Rimmel products it is in no way orange and adds a nice glow to my skin. It’s very light and doesn’t cake and it does an excellent job of setting my makeup so I really like this. You can buy it here.

I also picked up the Seventeen Blusher Brush and in all honesty I hate it. It’s really soft which is good but when I use it I end up with bristles all of my face which is really annoying as I have to pick them off without smearing my foundation around, I’m using this until I can get a better one but would definitely not recommend it to anyone. You can purchase it here.

I also picked up the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in Fair, everyone has been raving about this concealer and I do quite like it for my spots, the only downside is that for me personally it isn’t amazing at covering up the dark circles under my eyes, it’s is very brightening but can sometimes go a little smeary which isn’t great if you’re in a rush. You can buy it here.

The products I bought today:
today all quality
(The majority of my purchases)

The first thing I got today was the Rimmel London Wake Me Up Foundation in True Ivory, I’ve tried the Rimmel London Match Perfection Foundation and absolutely loved it but I wanted something more brightening for spring and after trying a tester of this I fell in love with it. My usual shade of choice Ivory was out of stock but the woman recommended me to go a shade darker anyway as she said these foundations are very pale, and I have to say the Porcelain shade was literally white. I blended this on my jawlines to see if it matched my skin and it looked really nice, so I’m super excited to use this. You can buy it here.

To the right of the Rimmel London foundation is the Rimmel London Sun Shimmer 3D Bronzer, I really wanted to buy a bronzer for contouring and I did have my eye in the NYC Colour Wheel but I wanted a bronzer that wouldn’t look orange or muddy on me as I have very pale skin and I was recommended this, I’ve tried a bit on my hand and it’s quite light but looks build-able so I’m looking forward to using that. You can view it here.

To the right of the bronzer is two Maybelline 24hr Colour Tattoos, I tried one of these in Endless Purple and have been using it over and over and the shop I was in (The Look which sells cosmetics wholesale) was selling these for Ā£2.50 each so I picked up two in Timeless Black and Turquoise Forever. I think that that black one will be a nice alternative for gel eyeliner and will also be good for smokey eyes and the turquoise is such a beautiful colour that I figured I use this in place of my Barry M Kohl Pencil in Kingfisher seeing as that had great colour payoff but terrible longevity. You can view them here.

To the right of the colour tattoos is a nail polish I picked up which is the Calvin Klein Splendid Color Unstoppable Color Nail Enamel in Red Red, I know you’re probably thinking oh my god Calvin Klein I bet that was expensive, actually I wasn’t because I got it from the wholesale shop I think it was around the Ā£2.50 mark so I’m really really happy with that. You can buy them for a similar price here.

I also picked up another nail varnish this time from Beauty UK, it’s the High Maintenance Nail Polish in Colour 20 which is a lovely Peppermint green, it’s a shame they didn’t give it a name (I love reading product names) but no it’s Colour 20. I’m been wanting a peppermint green and I can add it to my pastel collection which I’ve loving for spring. You can view the Salon Professional range here.

I have a slight obsession with different lip balms so I picked up the Miss Sporty Dr Balm Glam Kiss SOS in number 2 which is a bright pink, it doesn’t really have any colour payoff and it smells a little strange (I haven’t decided if I like or loathe the smell yet) but hopefully it’ll be nice and hydrating on my lips. You can view the range here.

Continuing on with lips I also picked up a Rimmel Kate Lasting Finish Lipstick in number 11 which is a dark cherry red with a hint of shimmer to it, some people have claimed that it is similar to MAC’s Rebel but I haven’t tried them so I can’t say if this is true or not, but it looks really nice and I’ve heard excellent things about this range so am super excited to try it. You can view the range here.

I also picked up a Manhattan Soft Mat (their spelling not mine) Lipcream, it doesn’t say what shade it is anywhere but it’s a rosy pink colour, I thought this was a lipgloss but it is a cream with a matte finish, it’s quite bright so is nice for spring but I’m not sure if the colour will suit me but we’ll see. You can buy it here.

I got drawn back to the eye makeup section and picked up a quad eyeshadow from Rimmel London in 001 Smokey Noir, I love doing smokey eyes and am so excited to try this, if these shadows are as blendable as they look I think that I’ll be able to create a really nice look with this. You can view it here.

The final product I got was from NYC and it is the Waterproof Eyeliner Pencil in 935 Moody Blue which is a really deep blue, I tried a tester in the shop and it was really creamy and pigmented so I decided to grab it, I really like wearing dark blue and I could mix it with the silver to create a smokey blue which again is bang on trend for spring. You can view the range here.

Overall I did a lot of shopping as you may have gathered and I think I should probably give my bank account a break, but I’ve picked up some amazing products, if you liked this post please hit the like button and let me know i you want any reviews or have tried any of these products in the comments!

Love x
